Beechwood Hall Wedding Photographer

so you're having a Beechwood Hall wedding! Here's the low down on everything you need to know

Why Choose Beechwood Hall for your Wedding

If you’re looking for a wedding venue that feels calm, elegant and surrounded by countryside, Beechwood Hall is a really lovely choice. Set just outside Lewes in the Sussex landscape, it has that peaceful, tucked-away feeling, while still being easy for guests to get to. The surroundings are green, open and quietly beautiful, giving your day space to breathe without feeling remote. Couples tend to choose Beechwood Hall because it strikes that balance between refined and relaxed, it feels special, but not showy, and everything flows naturally from one part of the day to the next. From a Beechwood Hall wedding photographer point of view, it’s a charming space: soft natural light, sapcious interiors that are great for small to medium-sized weddings, and an outdoor space that works in all seasons. It’s ideal if you want a wedding that feels personal, unhurried and rooted in its surroundings, rather than overly styled or formal.

One of the best things about getting married at Beechwood Hall is how easy it is to grab lovely, relaxed couple portraits without going anywhere. The surrounding park and greenery give you calm, natural backdrops, the hall exterior and veranda are perfect for just-married moments, and even the playground nearby can make for fun, unexpected photos if that’s your vibe. From a Beechwood Hall wedding photographer point of view, it’s ideal as everything’s close, the light is soft, and we can keep portraits short, natural and very much part of the day rather than a big production.

Top Tips for your Beechwood Hall Wedding

★  Tables & chairs are covered
Seating for up to 100 is already included, so you’re not starting from scratch.

★  Kitchen check is key
There’s a fully equipped modern kitchen, but always worth double-checking it suits your caterers before the day.

★  Parking is limited
Space for around 30 cars, so give guests a heads-up early and plan accordingly.

★  Marquee option (with a caveat)
If you’re hiring the hall for a weekend wedding, you can put up a marquee in the park next door — just remember it’s a public space, so chat it through with the venue first.

★  Decorate, but gently
You’re free to decorate, just avoid nails, strong adhesives or cello tape. Use the hooks on the wooden ceiling beams instead, perfect for bunting, flowers or fairy lights. There are hooks outside on the veranda too.

★  Alcohol is fine (with rules)
You can serve alcohol for free without a licence. If you want to sell it, you’ll need a Temporary Events Licence.

★  Music yes, late nights no
DJs and music are allowed, but it all needs to wrap up by 11pm to keep neighbours happy.

★  Bring your own caterers
Absolutely allowed, and local, sustainable suppliers are especially welcome. The venue can share recommendations if you want them.

★  Want different furniture?
Totally fine. If you’re after a specific look, the venue can point you towards hire companies they’ve worked with before.
